Carl Junction students are getting ready to sport the new fall 2017 fashion trends. Trends similar to styles from the 1970’s seem to be popping back up.  The shoes, the colors, the patterns: they all just scream that special 70’s style.

Here are some of the popular fall trends that have been showing up lately: 70’s plaid, A-line zippers, moody floral patterns, larger shoulder lines, reds, chocolates, black leather, denim, waist tied coats, trench coats, and many more. In addition, take notice that over-sized sweaters and comfortable hats are back. Circular or cat eye sunglasses are trends that are popping back up as well. Chunky heels are a big statement piece. Metallic slivers, feathers, pants suits, and small hand bags have also made an appearance again. For fall, the sweater is a classic icon piece that everyone should have in their closets. Corduroy is also back in season; it can be an overpowering look, so using it as a shirt with a muted color or fall colors can take it from tacky to fashionable.

Since Missouri’s fall is short, it’s sad to see the colors of the leaves everywhere, knowing that the next day they will have fallen and turned brown. Use some of your clothing to keep that colorful fall spirit alive! Pops of reds, oranges, and golden yellows brighten and warm up your outfits. Having hints of silver can tone down the intensity while still keeping the warmth of the colors. Boots or simple kitten heels can really class up a look, and even some longer or hoop earrings will make any look feel fancy. Since reds have started to come back, maroons and burgundies are good for making anyone’s skin tone look good. Even though the weather’s getting cold, you can still be fashionable and stylish. We look forward to seeing your style in our Carl Junction hallways!
