This years 3rd annual Joplin Art Fest will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2017. This event will showcase over 100 talented artists original artwork in the 2D and 3D art categories. This one-day festival will be located in Downtown Joplin, MO on Route 66.  It is considered to be one of the largest art fest showcases in southwest Missouri and is expected to bring over 20,00 art lovers and artists together. The Joplin Kiwanis Club, Joplin Regional Artists Coalition, Connect2Culture (C2C), and the Spiva Center for the Arts are all sponsors for this year’s Joplin Art Fest. These sponsors are the reason why this art fest is possible.

This festival is a great way for local artists to showcase their original work. There will be pottery, glass art, sculptures, drawings, photography, and so much more. In addition to the art booths, there will be areas for children to enjoy art activities sponsored by local organizations like Spiva Center for the Arts. There are going to be several local restaurants to grab a bite to eat. There will also be stages where local artists can perform throughout the day.

In the past years, there have been art performance such as Luke Shafer from the group Me Like Bees and dancers from Karen’s Dance Studio of Joplin. Last year there was also a music event.

People say that this is not only a great way to discover local artist, but it is also a great way to get to know new people and enjoy the outdoors. They also say that the stage arts activities are a great way to get involved in the art fest.

So come out and support you local artist as you enjoy this widely attended event on September 16.
